The map to the Royal Barge Museum serves as a guide to the museum located by the Bangkok Noi Canal on the Thonburi bank of the Chao Phraya River near the Wat Dusitaram community. Take a Chao Phraya river boat and get off at the Phra Pin Klao pier which is by the bridge of the same name. Take the left fork of Soi Cheung Chareon Phanit, walk along this road till you reach Soi Wat Dusitaram. Turn left and continue walking along this soi till you reach a narrow lane on the right with the museum sign at the junction. Turn right into this lane and keep walking through the Wat Dusitaram housing community till you reach the museum. Some of these narrow lanes are not marked on the map; just follow the signs to the Royal Barge Museum. When in doubt just ask the local residents. These include the Chao Phraya river tourist boats and the Chao Phraya river ferries which provide a service from the Phra Chan pier near Sanam Luang to the Phra Pin Klao pier. The Royal Barge Museum is open to the public everyday from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. Entrance fee is 30 baht. There’s an additional charge of 100 baht per camera. To return to the Royal Barge Museum. |
