Museum Siam map
how to get to the museum

The Museum Siam map is a Bangkok street map that serves as a self-help city guide for the independent visitor to find his way to this museum in Sanam Chai Road in the old city.

How to get there

An easy way to get to the Museum Siam is to take a skytrain to the Taksin Bridge Station. Go below the bridge to take a Chao Phraya River boat from the Sathon pier.

Please see the interactive Museum Siam map below.

The river boat will pass the N1 Oriental pier, N3 Si Phraya pier, N5 Ratchawong pier before getting to the N6 Memorial Bridge pier. Disembark at the Memorial Bridge pier (Saphan Phut in Thai).

If you have difficulties with the names in Thai, just use the alpha-numeric codes for each pier.

Once you have disembarked at the Memorial pier, skirt around the the King Rama I Memorial and go to Chakraphet Road. Turn left into Chakraphet Road and you’ll see the flower vendors by the road.

In the satellite map of the area, you can see the red roof of the main museum building.

Walk along Chakraphet Road till you get to the bridge and three-prong junction. Take the road to the right of the Phraratchawang Police Station. That’s Sanam Chai Road. Museum Siam is about 120 m on the left.

Opening hours of the Museum Siam

Museum Siam – opening hours

Museum Siam is open on

Tuesdays – Fridays from 1000 – 1800 hours

Saturdays – Sundays from 1000 – 1900 hours

It’s closed on Mondays.

Admission fees

When I first visited the museum in 2007, admission was free. For a museum of this standard, it’s only a matter of time before they charge a fee.

In my last visit in late 2010, I found out that admission fees have been implemented with dual pricing for Thai and foreigners.

For groups of five and below, the fees are:

Students – 50 baht, adults – 100 baht, foreigners – 300 baht

For groups of more than five,

Students – 25 baht, adults – 50 baht, foreigners – 150 baht

Admission is free for

Children below 15 years of age

Senior citizens above 60

Monks, the disabled and museum members

The address and contact details are:

Museum Siam
Sanam Chai Road
Phra Nakhon
Bangkok

Tel: 02 225 2777 or 02 225 2775

Enjoy your visit to the museum using the Museum Siam map as your self-help Bangkok city guide.
