My first visit to the Erawan Shrine

by Faith

My first visit to the Erawan Shrine was five years back and like many tourists I went to see the dancers. I just sat there on the bench and felt myself asking the four-faced Buddha for me to have a child soon. I was married for 1.5 years.

I did not think much of it, had a fantastic vacation and left for my home country. As I got back I learned that I was pregnant with my first child. I visited Thailand many times after that but it never occured to me to go back to the Erawan Shrine except for this year.

Something kept telling me to go back to give thanks and I did go back to give thanks to the four-faced Buddha.
